Types of SAP Certification Exams

Because there are a plethora of areas and responsibilities pertaining to SAP, there are over 150 certifications available to test-takers, each falling under one of three types: associate, specialist, and professional. Here’s a brief overview of each:

    • An associate certification covers the fundamental concepts professionals need to know in order to prove basic and broad SAP knowledge.
    • A specialist certification is more specific to a role or integration component that a professional is involved in.
    • A professional certification is for the more advanced professionals who require a detailed understanding of SAP and have proven project experience or business process knowledge.

Benefits of an SAP Certification

There are many benefits for both organizations and individuals when it comes to SAP certifications.

Organizations

SAP certifications are a great way to advance an organization’s professional development. When employees become certified in specified areas of SAP, they increase their chances of performing their roles at the most productive and effective levels. An organization’s credibility will also increase as its employees validate their skillsets.

From a customer or client standpoint, organizations want to make sure they are well represented. Current or potential customers will have more confidence in the organization’s services knowing that their employees have proof of their expertise, and in turn, can deliver results that meet professional standards.

Individuals

Having an SAP certification may open the doors to professional opportunities such as promotions or job offers. Not only will candidates gain recognition for their skills, but they’ll also gain the confidence of employers looking for trustworthy and knowledgeable employees.

An SAP certification is an achievement that prospective employers can verify in the form of digital badges that exhibit the individual’s accomplishments and credentials.

Stay Current with SAP Certification

The Stay Current program is a way for learners to stay up to date with SAP Cloud products. It offers trainings and exams that are constantly updated for each release. Once you pass an SAP certification that falls under one of the Stay Current topics (SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Digital Supply Chain, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Enable Now, or SAP Customer Experience) you’ll maintain the certification by passing assessments (if required) to stay current with the latest version of a solution upon release.

The Stay Current program requires you to obtain an SAP Learning Hub subscription which includes new content and videos on new features, webinars, focus areas on support issues and problem solving, and assets for learning the what’s, why’s, and how’s.
